bio:
Juan José Roque-Giraud holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. They are currently a MA student in the Department of Art and Art History and the Center for Latin American Visual Studies (CLAVIS) at The University of Texas at Austin. Their research focuses on contemporary art from the insular Caribbean and its diaspora, with a special interest in the material, the ephemeral, and conceptual practices. They collaborate as a freelance editor for the Whitney Museum of American Art and previously worked at the Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte of the University of Puerto Rico.
